Second Class Luxuries

By world definition, first class is always refer to the best of money can buy, or simply the most excellent, finest and top quality one can offer; this followed by the second class which is at all times inferior to the first class. When one talking about first class families, it always refer to those who are well-to-do, economically stable with no worries for their financial support; it doesn’t matter whether they work or not as what we always say “rich people never work”.

Quite the opposite, there are the second class families who constantly working hard with the intention of paying their everyday expenditure; it’s like their every meals, every clothes and every needs depend on their work; there’s usually where all the second class families paycheck go to. Undeniable that the first class families always had an upper hand than second class families in term of leisure, contentment and delight; yet not every first class families are having their happy time and not every second class families are having their bad time. No doubt, we do see many second class families smile in the midst of worries.

The problem is that the world just recognized that merely rich one are able to enjoy their world distinct ‘luxuries’; while the poor one usually not be able even just to savor it. Well let’s just amend your standpoint; we the second class peoples do have our own version of ‘luxuries’; well it’s not that gratifying as what the first class people have, but it’s just sufficient to make a comparison.

The wealthy (first class people) will go to five star hotels or restaurant to have their banquet; featuring bird nest as dessert, shark fin soup as appetizer, lobster and caviar as main course, with red or white wine and finally a burp of satisfactory. That of course will definitely cost a fortune, but it doesn’t matter for first class people as they can always swipe their gold/platinum card to the cashier. Now what come about to the poor?

The deprived (second class people) will go to some without rank ‘mamak’ stall to have their feast; featuring nothing for dessert, nothing for appetizer, just fried rice with additional egg served with extra chili as their main course, with Chinese tea and finally a burp of satisfactory. That doesn’t even cost over five bucks, yet many second class people are blissful for their feast.

As you can see, the equation is rather easy; well the end product is always unchanged; in this case, happiness of course! It makes me wonder “why some can spend more just for the same thing that we can get in a easy way”. Well the world is always fair, first class people will forever live in tension due to their uprising business, family affair and so on; the same go to the second class people, they worry about their paycheck, house rental and so on as well.

First class people tend to go casino for a Blackjack or Roulette; uncertain risk but high pleasure. Second class people will just go for a Toto or Magnum; uncertain risk but high pleasure. So who say that only the rich can get pleasure from ‘luxuries’?
